Providing a Fine Arts Education to Children
Harmony Youth Theater was created to bring quality Fine Arts education to students in the Chicago Northwest suburbs. Participating in the Performing Arts develops many aspects of a child’s development. Theater provides an outlet for making creative choices, thinking of new ideas and expressing ones inner thoughts. Taking risks during the rehearsal and performance process teaches students to trust their ideas and abilities. This process raises student’s self awareness and confidence. Acting roles from different plays, time periods, and view points promotes compassion and tolerance for other cultures. Participation in theater strengthens verbal and nonverbal expression. Actors work on diction, fluency of language, style of speech and interpretation of the written word. Participating in theater provides positive experiences that promote life long skills for actors. We have set a series of safety parameters for the re-opening of Harmony Youth Theater. Please familiarize yourself with our new safety protocols so that we can continue to provide meaningful arts education experiences for our students. Please understand this is an ever-changing time and the Harmony board is dedicated to staying updated with the current recommendations and working with our facility to keep Harmony running smoothly. To learn more about our Covid-19 procedures, please check out our Covid-19 Response plan. |
